Through our Supported Employment program, we help adults find jobs in the community, help to train those individuals, and then fade out of the picture until they are independently employed. Within this program, we have crews that work at landfills and a janitorial crew that cleans a local business daily. This project was initiated by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and Apex was one of the first service units in the state to begin placing employees.
Apex's Community Employment Services helps employers with staffing services, on-site job training and long-term follow-up services according to program. Services are provided at no cost to the employer or employee. Employment Consultants assess the requirements of available job openings with the interests and skills of applicants referred by Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and other referral sources. assist employers with training individuals. Apex's staff then the match applicant's skills to employer needs and serve as a mentor and trainer to ensure a positive outcome for both employer and employee. Employment Consultants, as well as the clients they place into competitive employment, contribute to the local economy.
